Premier Pentathlon Performance

          Congratulations to the two North Shore teams that competed at the Regional Academic Pentathlon competition in Aldine ISD on Saturday, April 30. The Academic Pentathlon is an exhilarating five event competition for middle school students that encourages and rewards academic excellence. Students from all levels of ability compete in essay, literature, math, science, and social science. Individual and team awards are given. The North Shore Middle School 7th Grade team won third place as the Overall Top Scoring Team. In addition, the following 7th graders won individual awards: Penny Benefield - 3rd in Essay, 3rd Overall; Brianna Martinez - 2nd in Essay; Trevor Mouton - 3rd in Math; Jonathan Sampson - 1st in Math, 2nd in Science, and 1st Overall; Taryn Surratt - 2nd place in Science and 3rd in Social Studies. Other members of the 7th grade team are Alyssa Boudreau, Gaby Gomez, and Jorge Martinez. Each of the team members received a bronze medal for the team win. The 8th grade team members are: Miguel Gonzalez; Adrian Ma; Marco Miranda; Zachary Potter; and Alma Rivera.
