Stampede Studios Students Take Top Honors |
The Fall season of 2011 marked the fifth annual Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) video public service announcement (PSA) contest for Career and Technical Education students. This was a nation-wide competition. Student teams were tasked with creating a 30 second PSA with the theme “CTE: Careers Through Education.” Career and Technical Student Organizations along with marketing and media professionals formed the panel that judged the final entries and chose the winners of the contest. Sydnie Hinshaw and Christian Melendez from North Shore Senior High School earned first place for their PSA entitled, “I’m Learning Today.” Hinshaw and Melendez created this video in Stampede Studios Audio/Video Productions class – a CTE course that focuses on media and video production. Stampede Studios Instructor Mark Nickelson noted, “They did an awesome job. They have both been in Stampede Studios for the past few years and I have seen tremendous growth in their planning, production, and technical skills.” To see the winning video and to learn more about CTE go to: http://www.acteonline.org/psacontest.aspx
