In the 2010-2011 accountability system, there are district and campus acknowledgments for high performance on indicators other than those used to determine accountability ratings. TEA has released the ratings to districts and will be releasing them to the public by the first week in November. Statute requires that acknowledgment is given for exceptional performance in the following fifteen areas:
Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion |
Commended TAKS Performance in Reading/ELA |
Advanced Placement Results |
Commended TAKS Performance in Mathematics |
Attendance Rate |
Commended TAKS Performance in Writing |
College- Ready Graduates |
Commended TAKS Performance in Science |
Recommended HS/Distinguished Achievement Program |
Commended TAKS Performance in Social Studies |
SAT/ACT Results |
Comparable Improvement: Reading/ELA |
Higher Education Readiness Component: Reading |
Comparable Improvement: Mathematics |
Higher Education Readiness Component: Mathematics |
|
The standard to earn the acknowledgment level is rigorous. The attached table includes the standard for each of the fourteen indicators (a bold standard indicates an increase or new measure for 2010-11). Most indicators apply to All Students and to the following student groups: African American, Hispanic, White, and Economically Disadvantaged. Each campus and district has performance results evaluated in each area and receives a rating of Acknowledged, Does Not Qualify (did not meet standard), or Not Applicable (indicator does not apply for the campus).
This year the district qualified for three acknowledgements and 21 of 22 rated GPISD campuses earned one or more acknowledgments as indicated in the table below.
