Introduction

Ciao!  Welcome to Italy!  In 48 hours, you will be taking President Bush on a tour of Italy.  Before becoming his tour guide, you will need to complete 4 tasks to become more familiar with Italy and all it has to offer.  Enjoy your trip!
 
 


The Task

Because you have all of Italy to tour, you will need 3 other assistant tour guides.  In groups of 4, each person will take on one of the following roles:

  • Tour guide 1: You will be responsible for learning to count to 10 and recite the days of the week.  You will then teach this to President Bush.
  • Tour guide 2: You will be responsible for comparing and contrasting Italian customs and traditions to those of the United States.
  • Tour guide 3: You will be responsible for researching Italy's finest restaurants and choosing a recipe to give to President  Bush to take back to the White House. 
  • Tour guide 4: You will be responsible for describing Italy's geographical regions.

      You will prepare and design materials to teach President Bush the days of week and to count to 10 in Italian.  Your materials could include:

Tour Guide 2:
     You will  prepare and design materials to teach President Bush how Italian customs and traditions are similar and different from those of the United States.  Your materials could include:

  • *A classificatory paper

  • *Venn diagram
  • *Powerpoint presentation
  • *Picture brochure or portfolio
  • *Any creative idea you have!

Tour Guide 3:
     You will prepare and design materials to teach Present Bush about Italian cuisine.  You will need to have one Italian recipe that can be taken back to the White House.  Your materials could include:

  • *Sample menus from Italian restaurants
  • *A how-to paper explaining how to make the recipe
  • *Pictures or drawing of various Italian foods
  • *Choose a specific Italian food to research and present
  • *Any creative idea you have!
