Turning on Your Computer

Another term for turning on a computer is booting or booting-up the computer. Push the power button on the CPU and monitor to turn the computer on. Wait for the program or operating system (Windows) to begin.

If nothing appears on the monitor after several minutes, check the following:

• Check if power to the computer and Monitor is on.
• Check if the cables are plugged in securely.
• Check the power strip to ensure it is plugged in and turned on.
• If this doesn’t solve the problem, call the Technology Department / TIS.
