GPISD Technology Proficiencies
2003-2004

Description

Technology is an important skill in society today and is a key feature to our student's success in the future. The IT department has developed a Technology Proficiency Standards program to prepare employees for the challenge and future of technology. These profiecincy levels build upon each other, in order to increase the employee's proficiency and compfort level. The IT department will be implementing Level IIIa of the program during the 2003-2004 school year. As a standard, GPISD is requiring that all veteran teachers, campus administratiors, Department of Instruction (DOI) and clerical staff will need to pass Level IIIa. All new personnel falling into these categories, will be required to pass Level I and II. The deadline for completing and passing all levels is February 23, 2004.

The goal of Instructional Technology is to improve the utilization and seamless integration of technology through the use of staff development, applications and curriculum software. The proficiencies are a minimum standard for technology and represent a simple baseline for all employees.
