Due to COVID-19, many Galena Park I.S.D. students were not able to take the ACT in March, May or June. If you missed your opportunity, you may sign up for a future test date and pay the $30 test day change fee. Make sure to do this no later than the registration deadline for the new test date or else an additional $30 late registration fee will also be charged.
Parents of new-to-district Kindergarten students may register online for the 2020-2021 school year. This registration opportunity is for students entering Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020. While Galena Park I.S.D. campuses are temporarily closed, all documentation must be uploaded into the online application. Please read the flyer for the directions and links to complete the application process.
Parents of Pre-Kindergarten students may now register for the 2020-2021 school year. This registration opportunity is for students entering Pre-Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year who will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2020. While Galena Park I.S.D. campuses are temporarily closed, all documentation must be uploaded into the online application. The application portal will be open June 8th through June 18th.

As of August 26, 2018 all school districts are subject to the Commissioner’s new rules regarding the removal of a disruptive person from a campus. More information regarding this new rule can be found in Chapter 37, section 37.105 of the Texas Education Code, which addresses: Unauthorized Persons, Refusal of Entry, Ejection, and Identification.
Galena Park ISD regularly provides mass notifications to parents, guardians, students, and faculty regarding weather closures, threat situations, event scheduling, or to provide other important education-related information. These messages not only drive positive educational outcomes, they can also save lives.
