  • North Shore Mustangs Win State Championship Final

    The North Shore Mustangs defeated Duncanville in the 2019 UIL Football State Final on Saturday, December 21, 2019. The Mustangs 31-17 win over Duncanville cemented their team as back-to-back Class 6A Division I state champions. Galena Park I.S.D. is proud of the hard work and dedication the team and coaches displayed this season.

  • Boys Basketball Update - GPHS vs Friendswood

    The Jacket defense was quick and aggressive early holding Friendswood to 10 first quarter points, however the Jackets managed only 3 points after missing 5 of their 6 free-throw attempts. The free-throw woes seemed to recede after the first quarter with the Yellowjackets shooting 71% for the game, unfortunately that early deficit proved hard to overcome. Galena Park made several runs at Friendswood getting within 5 points mid-way through the third quarter, but ended the game with a 40-50 loss.

  • Girls Basketball Update - GPHS vs Baytown Lee

    The varsity didn’t seem themselves as they struggled all evening, eventually losing 34-56 to Lee. Aniya Eason led the team in scoring with 12 points. Haven Hernandez led the Jackets in rebounding with 8, led in blocked shots with 9 and had 2 steals on the night. Daphne Bustos came off the bench and hustled down 4 offensive rebounds, grabbed a steal and had 2 assists.

  • Boys Basketball Update - WAMS vs C.E. King

    The gold team lost to the C.E. King Panthers 53-0 Monday night. It was a difficult match-up for the Hornets but they played hard and created some opportunities for success. The Hornets were led on defensive by the aggressive play of Xavier Celaya and Jacob Sonnier.

  • Additional Security Measures

    Middle school and elementary school students will only be allowed entry into the stadium with an accompanying adult. Students will still be allowed to sit in student sections together, as long as this does not result in any type of disruptive behavior. We thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to maintain a safe and secure environment at the Galena Park ISD stadium while cheering on our students.

  • Enhanced Security Procedures at GPISD Venues & Facilities

    Our district is committed to maintaining safe and secure environments for our students, staff, parents, visitors and community members. This commitment extends beyond our campus sites to include other district venues and facilities. Please expect enhanced security procedures at the Galena Park ISD stadium and other district events this coming year. While many may consider these enforcements insignificant, inconvenient or unnecessary, each procedure contributes to the overall safety and security of the facility and event.
