Public Information Act Requests


    Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Harris County, Galena Park I.S.D. closed campuses and district offices on March 12, 2020, and the closure remains effective through the end of the school year.  Because Galena Park I.S.D. has closed offices in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas Government Code allows temporary suspension of the Act until the district resumes normal operations and offices have been opened once again.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. You may submit a request for information throughout this time, but Public Information Act timelines will not be effective until the district resumes normal business activity. If you have any further questions, please email our Public Information Officer at

    Directions for Submitting a Public Information Act Request
    The Galena Park Independent School District, as a local governmental entity, is subject to the requirements of the Texas Public Information Act.

    All public information requests must be submitted in writing to the public information officer (email  is acceptable) and should contain the following information:

    1. Name
    2. Address
    3. Phone Number
    4. Description of the information and/or document being requested
