• GPISD Family & Friends,

We are very blessed, in Galena Park I.S.D., to have some amazing partners in our mission to prepare students to be productive citizens and lifelong learners!  We are so thankful to have community members who give their time to collaborate as we work toward Excellence in all, for all, by all.

A big THANK YOU goes to our area Fire Departments, including the Cloverleaf Fire Department, North Channel Emergency Medical Service, Galena Park Fire Department, and Jacinto City Fire Department, for helping the District provide Stop the Bleed training to all employees.  North Channel EMS’s donation of 382 Stop the Bleed kits, to place in various strategic locations, is also a blessing to the district, and their generosity is greatly appreciated.

Speaking of blessings, the district is richly blessed with a dedicated, close-knit group of retired educators who enjoy giving back to Galena Park I.S.D.  regularly.  To thank them for their service, our district hosts an annual Retired Educators Luncheon. As superintendent and former colleague of many of these very knowledgeable and talented lifelong educators, I have witnessed firsthand how their years of service have helped shape Galena Park I.S.D. into what it is today:  a high-achieving school district continually striving for excellence in everything we do. These retired educators continue to have a huge impact on our students and the community. Many of them substitute and volunteer in classrooms across our district each day, and we truly appreciate what they bring to the GPISD team.

We are also fortunate to have the opportunity to work with our local clergymen.  During a recent GPISD meeting, many area ministers joined us for fellowship and collaboration since we share a common goal—the success of the community’s children and families.  What an inspiration! We will continue to work together for the good of our students and community.

As a quick reminder, the last day to register to vote in the November 5, 2019 election is Monday, October 7, 2019.  Early voting dates for this election are October 21 – November 1, 2019.  We urge all eligible voters to register (if you haven’t already) to participate in the elections--your vote is your voice.

As always, we appreciate your continued support of our schools and students.  We have numerous student events and programs scheduled this fall; please join us in supporting our students as they aspire to the highest levels of success in everything they do.
