• WAMS vs Galena Park Middle
    The Woodland Acres basketball teams met up at Galena Park High School to battle the Galena Park Yellowjackets for their final game of the season on Monday, January 27th.

    7th Grade Gold Team:
    The 7th Grade Gold team started strong on defense holding the Jacket offense with a strong 2-3 zone. Sadly, their early efforts were not enough to prevent a Jacket run that ended in a 4-40 defeat.

    7th Grade Black Team:
    The 7th Grade Black team had stellar offensive play from Daniel Bravo and Julian Venezuela on the offensive side of the ball. The Hornets went into halftime only down by 12 points but allowed Galena Park to go on a massive run creating separation between the two teams. The Hornets experience a 12-49 defeat for their final game of the season.

    8th Grade Gold Team:
    The 8th Grade Gold team played a good first half but let the game get away from them in the second ending in a 32-5 defeat. Jacob Sonnier and Joseph Galvan led the Hornets on the floor for the night.

    8th Grade Black Team:
    The 8th Grade Black team were led offensively by Nathan Cardoza and Fabian Calazada. Their scoring kept the game tight in the first half as the Hornets took a two point deficit into the half. Unfortunately, the tides turned as G.P. took control and finished off the Hornets by a score of 81-26.

    On Deck:
    The WAMS programs will be preparing for the upcoming track season.

    WAMS vs North Shore Middle
    8th Grade Gold Team:
    The Gold team lost to North Shore Middle School 36-4. The offensive play was much improved and the defensive effort was solid throughout the game. Ricardo Ferral and Jacob Sonnier earned recognition for their strong offensive play and the entire team played great defense.

    WAMS Vs C.E. King
    The Woodland Acres Middle School vs. C.E. King Middle School on December 7th.

    8th Grade Gold Team:
    The gold team lost to the C.E. King Panthers 53-0 Monday night. It was a difficult match-up for the Hornets but they played hard and created some opportunities for success. The Hornets were led on defensive by the aggressive play of Xavier Celaya and Jacob Sonnier.
