    General Prevention & Sanitization Strategies:

    • Infrastructure- GPISD labs and classrooms will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to opening.
    • Masks- Masks will be worn at all times.
    • Social Distancing- Students will practice social distancing throughout all activities associated with CTE.
    • Student Grouping- To the greatest extent possible, keep the same groups of students together as much as feasible in order to minimize contacts and support contact tracing efforts.
    • Personal Hygiene- Hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer will be used upon entry and exit.
    • Equipment Assignment- Teachers should document each students use of equipment where possible. Consider assigning specific desks, welding booths, individual tools or equipment, etc. to each student and track these assignments in the event reporting needs to be conducted.
    • Classroom/Lab Transition- Students will be released in smaller groups, with instructions to maintain social distancing. Preparation will be required to ensure orderly transition. Teachers will set out materials/tools/prints, etc., prior to work.
    • Space Availability- If an area needing to be accessed will not allow 6 feet of separation, the area should be avoided or used in rotation only (i.e., lab tool rooms, storage areas, welding booths).
    • Industry Certifications- GPISD will adhere to any additional requirements by the assessment vendor.

ALL TEACHERS SHOULD MAINTAIN A SEATING CHART THAT CAN BE REFERRED TO AT ANY GIVEN POINT. ARRANGEMENT MUST BE DOCUMENTED AS WELL IF GROUPING STUDENTS FOR LABS OR ACTIVITIES.
