A Word From Our Athletic Director

Dear Galena Park ISD Parents and Students,

As part of our larger commitment to excellence and education, Galena Park ISD is dedicated to achieving excellence in all our athletic programs. Participation in athletics fosters positive character traits that contribute to students’ personal growth and success in life. These traits include the drive to take one’s talents to the highest level of performance, the discipline needed to meet high standards, the ability to work as part of a team in pursuit of a common goal, and adherence to codes of fairness and respect.

We are committed to the physical and emotional well-being of student athletes and to the social development of the whole child. We recognize that great demands are placed on students who participate in athletics. However, Galena Park ISD athletes are expected to adhere to a level of conduct that brings credit to themselves, their school, and the community.

Galena Park ISD is a member in good standing with the University Interscholastic League (UIL). As such, our athletic programs are required to adhere to rules and regulations. These rules also include our spectators.

Athletics play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community. However, there have been occasions when undesirable situations occurred, which did not reflect well on our fans or our district. There were incidents of hostile/derogatory/threatening remarks made toward officials, coaches, students, players, and opponents. There were instances of profanity and vulgarity.

Please do not be the person in the stands who detracts from the teachings of fairness and respect for our athletes. We expect to fill our stands only with fans that support our students and coaches and contribute to the positive environment they deserve. Please be aware that anyone who violates the UIL sportsmanship regulations will be immediately removed from the event and may be banned from future attendance for up to one year.

We appreciate your support of our student athletes and coaching staff. Please know it is up to each of us to model high expectations for our youth, especially as we prepare them to one day lead our community.

Schedules

Ticket Information for Athletic Contests

All tickets can be purchased at the Galena Park ISD Athletic Office, located at 15025 Wallisville Road, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. On game days, tickets will be sold until 2:00 p.m.
Tickets for home games can be purchased online through HomeTown Ticketing the week of the game.

Important Information for Student Tickets:

All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the game, OR present a valid student ID badge at the gate.
Students without a parent or guardian and without a valid student ID badge will not be permitted to enter the stadium.
This policy is in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable game-day experience for all attendees.

UIL Transfer Policy

Visitation Policy

In order to protect the security of District students, staff, and the learning environment at schools, all visitors, including parents/guardians, shall conform to the following guidelines:

To ensure student, staff, and visitor safety, and to facilitate quick, efficient entry to GPISD campuses and facilities, a Clear Bag Regulation has been instituted for visitors. This will limit the type of bag allowed. All bags brought onto GPISD campuses or facilities by visitors are subject to visual inspection.

Approved Bags

Visitors shall prominently wear the visitor badge provided by the office.
Visits to individual classrooms during instructional time shall be permitted only with the principal’s and teacher’s prior approval.
No visitor shall disseminate information to students and staff without prior approval from the Superintendent or designee as provided in GKDA (Local).
No visitor may solicit, proselytize, or recruit for fundraising activities, religious groups, youth groups, or political causes.
Media representatives shall arrange visits to school campuses with the Department of Communication Services.
Visitors are expected to wear appropriate attire while visiting District schools. Such attire should generally conform to the dress code outlined in the Student Handbook.
Any visitor who wishes to establish a regular presence in District schools and/or interact directly with students shall consent to a criminal background check.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Texas Senate Bill 2929

This is a new law that allows officials at school-sponsored extracurricular athletic events to immediately eject unruly spectators without prior warning. This law goes into effect for the 2025–2026 school year.
