Meet Jonathan R. Jackson, a proud product of Galena Park ISD (GPISD) and a North Shore High School alumnus who has gone on to become a Founding Attorney of J. Jackson Law Offices, PLLC in Houston, Texas. Jonathan’s journey reflects the powerful impact of a strong school community and the lasting influence of dedicated educators.

During his time in GPISD, Jonathan attended North Shore High School, where he was shaped by a nurturing educational environment that emphasized both academic and personal growth. One of the educators who left a lasting impression on him was Mr. Frey, whose guidance and support helped influence Jonathan’s development and success beyond the classroom.

Jonathan credits GPISD for providing an atmosphere that fostered confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of belonging. The district’s excellent athletic programs and coaching, along with the close-knit “Eastside” community feel, played an important role in shaping who he is today. These experiences instilled in him the values of teamwork, resilience, and leadership—qualities that continue to guide him professionally.

Demonstrating his commitment to giving back, Jonathan returned to GPISD to serve the community, working for a year as an RTI Specialist at Cunningham Middle School. In this role, he supported students’ academic growth and reinforced the importance of mentorship and advocacy within public education.

Jonathan’s journey stands as a testament to the lasting influence of GPISD schools and educators. We are honored to recognize Jonathan R. Jackson as a Black History Month honoree for his professional achievements and continued commitment to the Eastside community.

GPISD is proud of Jonathan R. Jackson and celebrates his accomplishments, leadership, and commitment to the Eastside community.
