Lorannette Lewis

A smiling woman with curly dark hair wearing an orange blazer sits in a room with a framed artwork on the wall behind her.

Meet Lorannette Lewis, a proud Galena Park ISD (GPISD) alumna whose career and community impact reflect the strength of the District that helped shape her. A graduate of Galena Park Middle School and Galena Park High School, Lorannette credits her success to the deeply supportive, family-like environment created by GPISD educators.

Some of the teachers who left a lasting impact on Lorannette include Mrs. Mary Dale Craven, Mrs. Julie Fanitini‑King, Mrs. Edwina Breaux, Mrs. Deborah Eaton, Coach Johnny Price, and Coach Gerry Jones. Their sincerity, high expectations, and dedication provided a safe space for students to grow, explore their passions, and see beyond their immediate surroundings.

Today, Lorannette is a top-producing real estate broker with nearly 20 years of experience and over $100 million in closed sales across Houston. She leads The Lorannette Group at Compass, where she mentors and empowers real estate professionals while continuing to serve clients with excellence, integrity, and a client‑first mindset.

A proud Houstonian and Navy spouse, Lorannette is also a certified Military Relocation Professional who uses her expertise to support military and veteran families navigating relocations. She remains deeply committed to her community through volunteer work with Houston ISD and Galena Park ISD schools, supporting families in need, and cheering on her three sons—Brayden, Braxton, and Brandt.

Reflecting on her journey, Lorannette shares: “I truly appreciate both the recognition and the opportunity to be showcased as a GPISD alumna. It means a lot to me to celebrate and stay connected with a community that shaped so much of my growth.”

GPISD is proud to celebrate Lorannette Lewis as a Black History Month honoree—her leadership, her service, and the lasting impact she continues to make in Houston and beyond.
