GPISD District Communications Protocol
Galena Park ISD utilizes Blackboard ParentLink to send automated messages to parents and guardians. This system is used for emergency messages and general information that should be of interest to parents. Our database is updated daily from our student management system, and the phone numbers and email addresses provided during enrollment or during returning-student verification are used. We strive to comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and promptly remove incorrect numbers upon notification.
Parents can manage which numbers and email addresses receive information, or opt out of messages, by logging in to our Blackboard ParentLink portal. You will need your child’s Skyward student ID number to access the system. Links to the Blackboard portal are available on the district’s website in the Communications Department.
Galena Park ISD will provide regular communication with parents/guardians throughout the school year.
