Advanced Placement (AP) and Advanced Courses - Preparing Every Student for College and Beyond

What are Advanced Placement courses?

Advanced courses are academically challenging, designed for motivated students ready to engage with rigorous content. These courses operate on the principle that all students can achieve at high levels. The coursework requires students to complete independent, analytical assignments and to complete a significant amount of work outside of class.

The curriculum for these courses is aligned with the core academic framework established by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for each subject. Instruction in these courses aims to push students to expand their knowledge, skills, and understanding in preparation for the next level of education. Specifically, advanced middle school courses are intended to prepare students for high school Advanced and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
