The mission of the Galena Park ISD Mathematics Department is to provide our students with an educational experience in mathematics that affords them the knowledge and skills to be productive, successful, and fulfilled citizens. We believe that by engaging our students in exciting lessons that explore and incorporate higher-level thinking skills, we can ensure success for all.

Purpose Statement

To support this mission, we will be committed to providing strong professional development and a well-balanced, up-to-date curriculum that incorporates real-world connections and technology. We will also present curriculum in a variety of teaching styles and techniques to reach all forms of student learning. Students will be challenged to develop skills in analysis, reasoning, creativity, and collaborative learning as they gain knowledge of mathematics. We will maintain high academic and behavioral expectations to make every classroom minute count and help students reach their full potential.
