Galena Park ISD's Pre-K Family Engagement Plan 2025-2026
Galena Park ISD believes that the preschool years are a crucial period in a child’s educational journey. The experiences during this time lay the foundation for academic, social, and emotional development. Children’s learning and intellectual growth are shaped by the unique experiences they encounter in the preschool classroom. Since students arrive with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds, our goal is to ensure that every child achieves early success both academically and socially.
Galena Park Independent School District and the Early Childhood Department recognize that parents, teachers, and community members all play vital roles in the educational success of every student.
To enhance the quality of education for Pre-Kindergarten students in GPISD, we encourage the active participation of parents, teachers, and community members. By engaging them in meaningful ways, we provide opportunities for input that help shape our school community and the services we offer. To support this collaboration, we have developed a Family Engagement Plan to strengthen partnerships among all stakeholders.
“The mutual responsibility of families, schools, and communities to build relationships to support student learning and achievement, support family well-being, and the continuous learning and development of children, families, and educators. Family engagement is fully integrated in the child’s educational experience and is both culturally and linguistically appropriate.” (Texas Administrative Code §102.1003)
