Pre-K Eligibility Criteria

State of Texas Pre-K Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for enrollment in the district pre-kindergarten program, a child must: 

• be 3 or 4 years of age on or before September 1 of the school year they are enrolling for
• AND meet at least one of the following criteria: 
  • Child is economically disadvantaged 
  • Child is a limited English speaker 
  • Child is homeless 
  • Child of an active military member
  • Child of military member injured or killed while serving on active duty
  • Child is or has been in CPS custody
  • Child of a first responder seriously injured or killed in the line of duty and received the Star of Texas Award
