The purpose of the Department of Educational Support is to support campuses. Our vision is to enable students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to survive and thrive in today's world by providing expert support and a culture of excellence at all Galena Park ISD campuses. We value Professionalism, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect.
Anti-Vaping Information
Galena Park ISD has compiled a collection of videos and resources to help parents and students understand the serious dangers of vaping. These materials explain how vaping affects health, clarify common myths, and offer practical tips for prevention and conversations at home. Accessible and age-appropriate, the resources are designed to support families with clear information, trusted guidance, and links to local support services so students can make safer choices and parents can stay informed.
Bullying
Galena Park ISD has compiled a set of videos and resources for parents and students about the dangers of bullying, including cyberbullying. The materials explain warning signs of cyberbullying—such as sudden withdrawal, secretive device use, changes in mood or school performance, and unexpected social media accounts or messages—and offer clear prevention strategies like setting online boundaries, teaching empathy, and monitoring digital activity. They also guide parents and educators on how to address bullying behavior: document incidents, have calm restorative conversations, involve school staff, and connect families with counseling or community supports. These age‑appropriate resources are intended to help families recognize, prevent, and respond effectively to bullying.
Raa Wee
RaaWee is a technology platform for school districts that helps improve student attendance and prevent truancy and chronic absenteeism. It streamlines the process for schools to identify at-risk students, track their progress, and facilitate collaboration between students, families, school staff, and community resources. The system uses data analysis and communication tools to help educators and stakeholders create targeted interventions and support plans.
Threats Are No Joke
"Threats Are No Joke" is a public awareness campaign in Texas by the Texas School Safety Center that educates students and parents about the serious consequences of making or sharing threats. The campaign emphasizes that threats, whether verbal, online, or through other means, can lead to severe consequences, such as school disciplinary action and legal penalties. The initiative provides resources for grades 4-12, including videos, guides, and posters, to promote the message: "Don't do it. Don't share it. Report it!"
Truancy and Attendance
Galena Park ISD has compiled videos and resources for parents and students about the importance of regular attendance and the consequences of truancy. These materials explain attendance policies, identify common causes of absenteeism, and offer practical strategies to improve punctuality, such as establishing routines, communicating with school staff, and accessing support services for barriers like transportation or health issues. Clear guidance is provided on reporting absences, school intervention steps, and community resources to help families keep students engaged and on track for academic success.
