Welcome! The Galena Park ISD Grounds Maintenance team keeps our campuses safe, attractive, and ready for learning and play. We maintain outdoor spaces across the district so students, staff, families, and visitors enjoy well-kept grounds every day.

Our site and grounds services
We handle a wide range of exterior maintenance tasks across the district, including:

  • Mowing — routine turf care to keep fields and lawns healthy and tidy
  • Landscaping — planting, bed maintenance, mulch, and seasonal color
  • Tree and limb removal — pruning, fallen limb cleanup, and hazard mitigation
  • Parking lot maintenance — pothole repair, striping coordination, surface upkeep
  • Signage for traffic control — installation and repair of traffic and parking signs
  • Fencing/gates — repair, replacement, and gate operation checks
  • Irrigation systems — installation, repairs, seasonal checks, and scheduling
  • Athletic fields/courts maintenance — turf/facility prep, line marking, surface care
  • Site surface drainage — inspection and corrective maintenance to reduce standing water
  • Sidewalks / other exterior paving surfaces — repair coordination and upkeep
  • Site furnishings — benches, tables, litter receptacles, bike racks, etc., maintenance
  • Flagpoles — upkeep, repairs, and protocol compliance
  • Playground equipment — inspection, maintenance, and safety checks

How to Request Service

  • For routine requests or non-emergency needs for the Grounds Maintenance Department, please submit through the SchoolDude portal.

When submitting a request, please include:

  • Campus/building name and exact location on site (near main entrance, north parking lot, playground, etc.)
  • A brief description of the issue (e.g., “large limb down by the north field,” “sprinkler leaking at the teacher’s parking”)
  • Photos when possible
  • Your contact information and best time to follow up
