GPISD Student Transfer Guidelines
CLOSED CAMPUSES
Limited Open Enrollment is the annual process that allows students to attend a school other than their home school, also known as their school of residence.
In approving transfer applications, the Superintendent or designee, shall consider the availability of space and instructional staff, the student's disciplinary history, and attendance/tardy records. Admitting a transfer student shall require only a minor adjustment to the existing programs offered by GPISD.
A transfer that would limit the educational opportunities of resident students shall not be approved. The Superintendent or designee has the authority to accept or reject any transfer request, provided that such action is without regard to race, religion, color, sex, disability, or national origin.
The Superintendent or designee has the authority to revoke transfers. Transfer students shall follow all District rules and regulations, including, but not limited to, GPISD policies and the Student Code of Conduct. Any other disruptions by the student or parent/guardian that interfere with the school's daily operation may result in the transfer being revoked.
It is essential to recognize that student transfers are a privilege and should be treated as such. Transfers may be revoked if the expectations outlined in the Student Transfer Guidelines are not met.
