Welcome, families and community members! The Galena Park ISD Childcare Center provides safe, developmentally appropriate care and learning for children of GPISD students and employees. We partner with parents—your child’s first and most important teachers—to support each child’s growth in a warm, respectful environment.

Childcare Services for District Employees

GPISD Childcare Registration is Now Open for District Employee Parents!

To reserve your child’s spot for the 2026–2027 school year, please click the REGISTER NOW! link. You will be prompted to complete a brief interest form and submit the annual registration fee. Space is limited, and enrollment fills quickly—early registration is highly recommended!

Who do we accept?

Children of GPISD students
Children of full-time district employees (may include guardianship situations and/or CPS placements)
Grandchildren of full-time district employees

We do not accept children of substitutes or children with another family connection to a full-time GPISD employee (other than child or grandchild).

Initial Acceptance (District Employee Children Only)

We will prioritize acceptance as follows:

1. Returning families

2. Siblings of currently enrolled students

3. Newly enrolling children of full-time GPISD employees (may include guardianship situations)

4. Newly enrolling grandchildren of full-time GPISD employees

Childcare Services for Students

All Galena Park ISD students who have a child or children are eligible for childcare services at one of the district's two childcare centers. Services are only provided while the student is attending school. If you are in need of childcare, please call the center closest to the school you attend.

P.E.P. and Teen Pregnancy Services

The Pregnancy, Education, and Parenting (P.E.P.) Program

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Pregnancy, Education, and Parenting (PEP) program is to reduce student absences and to prevent dropouts due to teen pregnancy and parenting responsibilities. The PEP program is designed to enable pregnant students and school-age parents to become educated, self-sufficient, responsible, career-oriented citizens. The PEP program also works to recover teen parents who have dropped out of school and who are still below the compulsory attendance age.

Objectives

The PEP program will work to reduce the dropout rate among pregnant and parenting teens by providing a variety of specialized services. The PEP program will provide education in parenting and self-sufficiency skills while allowing each student-parent to continue receiving academic and career-related instruction on a regular school campus. The availability of childcare, transportation and a specially designed 4-year graduation plan will contribute to a decrease in the dropout rate among the teen parent population.
