North Shore Senior High Tennis

  • District Play Ends

Our season of Team Tennis finished on a high note with big wins at home against United and Channelview. The Varsity Mustangs thank all the teachers and parents who came out to support them this season! There will be a short "off season" before we are back at practice to prepare for Spring Tennis in January.

    District Play Continues

The Varsity Mustangs came off their win against CE King to face 3 tough matches in a row after Tropical Storm Imelda delayed play for all of District 21-6A. First was a disappointing visit to Deer Park, then two home matches versus Westbrook and Sterling. It was a tough 3 days of matches against the top 3 district tennis teams, but our Mustangs are ready to get back to regular schedule and finish the season strong!

    District Play Begins

After a disappointing start at home versus LaPorte, the Varsity Mustangs visited CE King on September 10 to face off against the Panthers. The match was very close after the intial doubles matches, but when singles play began the Mustangs pulled ahead. Congruatulations to Jasmin Ilsas, who triumphed in a tough third-set tie-breaker to give the Mustangs the winning point in the match, just before lightning ended play for the evening. Go Mustangs!

    Varsity Kicks off Team Tennis

The Varsity Mustangs began Team Tennis play before most students were even at school, beginning regular practice in late July and facing two non-district matches before the start of the school year. In-district rivals Galena Park HS came to North Shore on August 16, ready to try and break their 4-year losing streak against the Mustangs. Also, the Varisty Mustangs traveled to Dickinson to face off against the Gators on August 21. Unfortunately, the team was unable to pull off the win in either match, though our boys won several individual and doubles matches. District play begins on September 6 when La Porte comes to North Shore. Please come out to support our Varsity Tennis Team!
