Galena Park High School Cross Country

  • On 10/5/19, the Galena Park Yellowjackets competed in at Veteran Memorial Pak. Both varsity Boys and JV Girls excelled in their performance winning 1st place as a team for the first time this season.  The varsity Boys top performers, who have earned medals for finishing in the top 20, were Christian Martinez, Cesar Tienda, Jayden Morin and Erenst Lopez.  The varsity Girls top perfomers were Mayra Tovar, Natalie Fuentes and Savannah Rios. The JV Girls team, led by freshman Jaylynn Estrada who finished first overall, outperformed everyone in their competition. The rest of the JV team made up of Victoria Tovar, Avalynn Estrada, Vianka Nieto and Samantha Banda were top 15 finishers and they have all been awarded medals for their performance. The next event will be the District meet in Frendswood on Thursday, Oct. 17th.


    The Yellow Jackets will be in action on Saturday August 24 at the Sam Houston Invitational at T.C Jester Park.


    The Galena Park Yellowjackets kicked off their season at the Sam Houston Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 23rd. While competing amongst many other teams, the girls led by sophomore Natalie Fuentes, finished 18th out of 55 runners. Though being the first Cross Country meet ever, the young team showed resilience and is looking forward to the competition next Friday at Crenshaw Park in Pasadena.
