OCTOBER 22, 2019 - MOODY GARDENS: Galena Park Golf is once again off to a respectable start. 14 teams showed up to battle it out at the challenging Moody Gardens Golf Course in Galveston. Of the 14 teams, Galena Park finished 5th overall. Of the 58 boys participating, Agustin Rodriguez (Sophmore), finished 14th individually. Gabriel Rivera (senior) was right behind him finishing 17th. Churchill Couch broke 100 in his first Varsity tournament by shooting a 99 and earned the 20th spot. The boys got a good look at the golf course that they will be playing at for their District Tournament on March 30th and 31st.
OCTOBER 31, 2019 - RIVER TERRACE GC: It was Cold. It was wet. It was windy. But the GP boys did not let that affect their game. Their knowledge of the golf course and great short game play helped them to overcome all obstacles. In the end the GP Golf Team was victorious, earning a 1st Place Overall Team Finish and bringing home Gold Medals. Agustin Rodriguez (Sophmore), finished 3rd place individually and brought home an additional Bronze Medal for shooting his season low 88. David Rivera (Junior) was close behind shooting a personal best score of 92. I am very proud of these boys for toughing it out in rough conditions. Their persistence and determination paid off.
NOVEMBER 7, 2019 - BATTLEGROUND GC: Tournaments at Battleground Golf Course, in Deer Park, are always big and challenging; yesterday did not disappoint.
