Welcome to Galena Park Independent School District Benefits For New Hires
Galena Park ISD is pleased to offer the following benefits to all benefit-eligible employees:
Eligible new hires must actively enroll or waive coverage within 31 days of your actively-at-work date. Your actively-at-work date is the first day that you are scheduled to work. If you fail to enroll or waive coverage during the 31-day grace period, you will not be eligible to enroll in benefits until you have a qualifying event or during the next Open Enrollment period in July 2026, whichever comes first.
Please note that our benefits plan year runs from September 1 to August 31 each year.

HOW & WHEN TO ENROLL
You must complete your enrollment within 31 days of your active work date (the first day you are scheduled to work).
Required Documents Needed:
- Valid identification for all enrolled persons (State-issued ID, Birth Certificate, Passport, etc.)
- Social Security Card for all enrolled persons
- Marriage Certificate for enrolled spouses (Common law and same gender are recognized)
