Welcome! The Galena Park ISD Student Nutrition Services Department is committed to fueling student success by serving quality, nutritious meals every school day. Our mission is to provide service excellence that prepares students to be lifelong learners by offering well-balanced meals prepared by trained personnel. We want families, staff, and students to easily find the information they need about menus, programs, and dietary accommodations—so we’ve organized this page with clear sections and quick links to help you navigate.
Our vision is simple: to serve the most awesome meals every single day. Did you know the department operates multiple nutrition programs, including the School Breakfast Program, School Lunch Program, Afterschool Snack and At‑Risk Supper Programs, the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, and the Summer Feeding Program? We are self-funded (we do not receive local property tax funding); instead, we receive federal reimbursements and earn revenue to cover departmental expenses. The At‑Risk Supper and Summer Feeding Programs provide free meals to all children under 18, and selected campuses participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program by invitation from the Texas Department of Agriculture. We are also implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) at qualifying schools to expand access to breakfast and lunch.
We are proud to nourish our students with meals that are both healthy and delicious. Thanks to the support of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs, we are able to help students thrive every day. At the heart of our work is a commitment to great customer service, fresh ideas, and open communication. We are honored to serve you, your students, and to be part of your school community. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions, concerns, suggestions, or comments — we look forward to hearing from you.
For quick access, please use the links below to view the Long Star Grill lunch menu, current school menus, instructions for navigating SchoolCafe, and Smart Snacks in School guidelines. If you need assistance with meal substitutions, program participation, or menu planning, contact Student Nutrition Services—we’re here to help.
