Remote Learning Student Expectations and Guidelines
The purpose of this page is to provide expectations, guidelines and information for students who will be working in the Galena Park ISD remote learning environment, whether full-time or intermittently, during the 2020- 2021 school year. Applicable district policies have been summarized where appropriate; however, all district policies communicated in the Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct will be enforced.

Dress Code
GPISD will suspend requirements for standardized dress code for all elementary and middle school students for the Fall Semester of the 2020-2021 school year. However, masks/face coverings will be required for students. We will revisit dress code requirements and make a decision in November regarding the Spring 2021 Semester. Students will be required to have clear or mesh backpacks.

Parent Orientation for Digital Learning
Parents are required to attend an Orientation for Digital Learning which demonstrates the online learning platform used in the classroom, resources available and how to access technical support. Orientations will be offered online. All sessions will provide English and Spanish instruction.

Student Enrollment Information Page
The mission of the Galena Park Independent School District Student Admissions Department is to provide our community members and district personnel with exemplary support and assistance with student admissions. The main focus of the Student Admissions Department is to assist in making the student enrollment process as efficient as possible. For the 2020 - 2021 school year, registration will take place online and an email will be required.

District Information and Guidelines for Reopening of Schools 2020-2021
Plans are underway to welcome our students and staff back to school for the 2020-2021 school year! Please check this webpage often to keep updated on the latest news and plans for reopening our schools and to become familiar with the options presented to parents/guardians for their child(ren)s' educational settings for the 2020-2021 school year. Please note, however, that Reopening Plans are subject to change in order to remain in compliance with ever-changing guidance from our local and state officials, the Harris County Public Health Department (HCPH), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

GPISD Announces Full-Day Pre-Kindergarten
To increase your child’s readiness for kindergarten, Galena Park I.S.D. will begin to offer a full-day Pre-Kindergarten program for 4 year-old students at all campuses. A half day program is also offered for 3 year-old students at select campuses.
