HB5 Graduation Requirements
Galena Park ISD believes in keeping students, parents, and community members informed about education policies. GPISD graduates students under House Bill 5 (HB5). The 83rd Texas Legislature established HB5, Regular Session, 2013. HB5 created a new graduation plan called the FOUNDATION PLAN.
All students entering the 9th grade beyond 2014 are required to select an endorsement pathway. With an endorsement, students explore a career field of interest and earn valuable career-ready skills that will prepare them for success in college and the workforce.
