  • North Shore Mustangs Win State Championship Final

    The North Shore Mustangs defeated Duncanville in the 2019 UIL Football State Final on Saturday, December 21, 2019. The Mustangs 31-17 win over Duncanville cemented their team as back-to-back Class 6A Division I state champions. Galena Park I.S.D. is proud of the hard work and dedication the team and coaches displayed this season.

  • Boys Basketball Update - GPHS vs Goose Creek

    The varsity team took an early 12-6 lead behind some solid defense and aggressive offense. The game slowed down in the second quarter as both teams battled to a 20-20 tie. Goose Creek came out early in the third and took a lead that they maintained through the end of the quarter. The Yellowjackets remained calm and slowly chipped away at the 7 point third quarter lead until they took a 47-46 lead with 24 seconds remaining in the game. G.P. still had the 1 point lead with 4 seconds in the game and Goose Creek had 91 feet to make something happen. The Patriots managed to get the ball down the floor and through the basket just as the clock went to 0:00 winning 47-48.

  • Girls Basketball Update - GPHS vs Texas City

    The varsity team started strong with some aggressive offensive play by Aniya Eason who scored and dished the Yellowjackets to an 11-7 first quarter lead. Some foul trouble and turnovers plagued the Lady Jackets in the second as they dropped in 13 points to Texas City’s 21 giving Texas City a four point lead at the end of two. The second half was all Texas City as G.P. continued to struggle with turnovers and rebounding. Galena Park simply gave up way too many second and third chance opportunities under the basket. Texas City finished the game with a 41-56 win.

  • Boys Basketball Update - WAMS vs C.E. King

    The gold team lost to the C.E. King Panthers 53-0 Monday night. It was a difficult match-up for the Hornets but they played hard and created some opportunities for success. The Hornets were led on defensive by the aggressive play of Xavier Celaya and Jacob Sonnier.

  • Additional Security Measures

    Middle school and elementary school students will only be allowed entry into the stadium with an accompanying adult. Students will still be allowed to sit in student sections together, as long as this does not result in any type of disruptive behavior. We thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to maintain a safe and secure environment at the Galena Park ISD stadium while cheering on our students.

  • Enhanced Security Procedures at GPISD Venues & Facilities

    Our district is committed to maintaining safe and secure environments for our students, staff, parents, visitors and community members. This commitment extends beyond our campus sites to include other district venues and facilities. Please expect enhanced security procedures at the Galena Park ISD stadium and other district events this coming year. While many may consider these enforcements insignificant, inconvenient or unnecessary, each procedure contributes to the overall safety and security of the facility and event.
