  • Meal Distribution

    Meal Distribution, incorporates 30 spots around our district where 15 buses offer and deliver hot meals to students of our district. All a student or parent needs to do is show their student ID. If the child cannot attend, then the parent simply needs to show their child’s student ID or have their ID numbers to give the Student Nutrition employees at each stop. These stops are stretched across Galena Park and North Shore, from Fidelity to beltway 8, and Clinton Dr. to Hwy 90. These stops last for one hour and begin at 9:30 AM rotating to the buses second stop at 10:20, lasting until 11:30 AM. If interested, please see the appropriate list identifying either the Wi-Fi Bus hotspot locations or the Meal Distribution stops.

  • Bus Wifi Placement

    In continuing with Galena Park ISD tradition of “Whatever It Takes” to support our children and give them the very best opportunities for success. GPISD has developed and implemented two very important programs to support the students during this unusual time, a WiFi Bus system and a Meal Distribution plan. The WiFi bus system includes 20 strategically placed buses with mobile WiFi hotspots for students to log on and complete their school work. These buses will be air conditioned for the students and parents who would like to attend with their child. Each bus will follow proper social distancing protocols, wear masks, and is also equipped with hand sanitizer for use.

  • Brighter Bites

    This year, Brighter Bites enrollment is paperless. You can now sign up on computer, tablet, or cell phone through our digital enrollment form. Sign up as early as possible in order to start picking up produce and to get the most out of our program throughout the year. If you cannot access the enrollment online, please contact your school for other enrollment options.

  • New Beginnings Support Group

    Galena Park I.S.D.'s Mental Health Intervention Team is offering a six-week New Beginnings Support Group for students, parents, or staff in need of a safe, supportive environment to share and cope with their feelings associated with the COVID-19 pandemic or any other life stressors. Participation in the group is free of charge and open to GPISD students, parents, and staff.

    Plans are underway to welcome our students and staff back to school for the 2020-2021 school year! Please note, however, that Reopening Plans are subject to change in order to remain in compliance with ever-changing guidance from our local and state officials, the Harris County Public Health Department (HCPH), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

  • Removal of Unauthorized/Disruptive Persons

    As of August 26, 2018 all school districts are subject to the Commissioner’s new rules regarding the removal of a disruptive person from a campus. More information regarding this new rule can be found in Chapter 37, section 37.105 of the Texas Education Code, which addresses: Unauthorized Persons, Refusal of Entry, Ejection, and Identification.

    Galena Park ISD regularly provides mass notifications to parents, guardians, students, and faculty regarding weather closures, threat situations, event scheduling, or to provide other important education-related information.
