North Shore Elementary will again have a standardized dress code for the 2019-2020 school year. All students will have 15 calendar days to comply with the dress code, and all new students arriving after the beginning of the school year will also have 15 calendar days in which to comply.
The required standardized clothing may be purchased at stores such as Wal-Mart, Palais Royal, JC Penney, Dillard’s, Fiesta and numerous other department stores in the area.
The North Shore dress code is as follows:
Tops
Colors: Any solid color
Style: shirts/blouses, collared, long/short sleeved (no t-shirts, unless a school spirit shirt)
Other: sweatshirts and sweaters allowed in required colors
Requirements: shirts are to be tucked in (excluding sweatshirts)
No logos (must be plain)
North Shore school shirts will be sold and may be worn any day of the week with appropriate bottoms.
Bottoms
Colors: blue, black or khaki (no denim)
Style (boys): pants and shorts
Style (girls): pants, skirts, skorts, shorts, jumpers and capri pants
Other: any brand/logo allowed on bottoms
Requirements: belts are required for bottoms with belt loops
all shorts and skirts are to be mid-thigh or longer
** Mesh backpacks are mandatory to all students. **
Other
- There are no new restrictions on coats or jackets.
- Students are allowed to wear sandals with closed backs or straps. No Heelys or flip flops allowed.
- Students will be allowed to wear jeans on Fridays with a standardized shirt, or a North Shore school t-shirt. Parents will be notified of “special” days such as Go Texan Day.
