MISSION STATEMENT:
To develop and enhance the vocal abilities and skills of students through repertoire selection, rehearsal technique, healthy tone, breath management, sight reading skills, and performance opportunities.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Choir is one of the most respected organizations on campus.Our reputation for excellence has been built by hundreds of students since 1982. In 2017-2018, we continued our tradition of excellence. Cunningham Choir placed 26 students in All-Region Choir! Our students earned Division I medals and Division II ratings at the Solo Contest in Apr. Varsity Boys Choir earned a Division II rating in Concert, and a Division I (Superior rating with a trophy plaque at the UILSight Reading Contest in March. Non-Varsity Girls Choir earned a Division II rating in Sight Reading, and a Division I in Concert (Superior rating with a trophy plaque at the UIL Contest in March. The Varsity Girls Choir earned “Sweepstakes” (Division I in both Concert & Sight Reading) at the University Interscholastic League Concert & Sight Reading Contest in March. All choirs presented excellent Fall, Winter,and Spring performances- all made possible through the efforts of Cunningham Middle School’s dedicated ,hard working,and talented members. Every member is important.

CMS Select Choir students are required to attend and participate in the scheduled choir concerts,which count as 2 major test grades. All other choir students will complete an alternative assignment.
Students may ride the activity bus home at 4:45 pm on after-school rehearsal days (Monday & Thursday)
Students may remain at school in the choir room for scheduled after-school rehearsals and concerts.
