Galena Park ISD
CTE and Union PacificIn the Spring of 2022, Union Pacific expressed interest in partnering with Galena Park ISD Career and Technical Education to increase the pipeline of young candidates for careers in Railroad Operations, focusing on recruiting non-traditional candidates. Part of this effort is the commitment by Union Pacific to hire and retain diverse employees by increasing the number of women in the workforce and the minority representation by 2030. While in the pilot stage of this new relationship, Union Pacific has agreed to offer our students the chance to interview for positions as a Mechanical Service Operator and/or Train Crew. Students who interview may be asked to apply for a position with Union Pacific and may be given preference upon successful completion of Union Pacific's hiring process.
