Benefits For New Hires
Galena Park I.S.D. is pleased to offer the following benefits to all benefit eligible employees:
Eligible new hires must actively enroll or waive coverage within 31 days of your actively-at-work date. Your actively-at-work date is the first day that you are scheduled to work. If you fail to enroll or waive coverage during the 31-day grace period, you will not be eligible to enroll in benefits until you have a qualifying event or during the next Open Enrollment period in July 2023, whichever comes first.
For August new hires, if you need benefits right away, you can choose your actively-at-work date (the first day that you are scheduled to work) for medical, dental, vision and HSA. Please note our new plan year for the district is effective September 1, 2022 - August 31, 2023.How & When To Enroll
You must complete your enrollment within 31 days of your actively-at-work-date (the first day that you are scheduled to work).
Required Documents Needed:- Valid identification for all enrolled persons (State issued ID, Birth Certificate, Passport, etc.)
- Social Security Card for all enrolled persons
- Marriage Certificate for enrolled spouses (Common law and same gender are recognized)
