Welcome to Galena Park Independent School District
Benefits For New Hires
Galena Park I.S.D. is pleased to offer the following benefits to all benefit eligible employees:
Eligible new hires must actively enroll or waive coverage within 31 days of your actively-at-work date (this is the first date of your contract). Your actively-at-work date is the effective date of your contract. If you fail to enroll or waive coverage during the 31-day grace period, you will not be eligible to enroll in benefits until you have a qualifying event or during the next Open Enrollment period in July 2022, whichever comes first.
For new hires benefits, you have options for your effective date. If you need benefits right away, you can choose your actively-at-work date (the first date of your contract) for medical, dental, vision and HSA. Please note our new plan year for the district is effective September 1, 2021 - August 31, 2022.
