In February of each year our middle school science students have the opportunity to participate in campus science fairs. Our hope is to promote scientific thinking and the integration of math, science and technology. In March of each year the top participants from each campus participate in the District Science Fair. 2019-2020 was the 6th Annual District Science Fair. We had a total of 165 participants. Students were given the opportunity to investigate and practice experimental design in the areas of chemistry, physics, consumer science, biology, and behavioral science. Some of the exceptional investigations included topics such as The Perfect Shot, Save the Bananas, Bubbly Plants, Boiling Points of Liquids, and A Minty Mouth. First, second, and third place winners were selected from grades 6, 7 and 8. Due to COVID-19, we were not able to hold the District Science Fair Awards Ceremony. Teachers notified their students in April of their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place placement in the science fair. Trophies will be distributed to all science fair winners when the campus buildings are able to safely open in the fall.
