The Galena Park I.S.D. STEM Girls Club mission is to increase interest in STEM careers and build character as students explore, plan, build and collaborate using engineering design principles to complete a series of hands-on, student-centered projects. This is an after-school club, for Galena Park ISD students, that meets 1-2 times a week, or as needed, with an interdisciplinary approach to utilizing a curriculum driven by problem-solving, discovery, exploratory learning, and active learning in order to find solutions. STEM Girls offers educational enrichment in the form of after-school sessions, speakers, and field trips. Moreover, the STEM Girls aims to enrich the 6-8 STEM curriculum and support participants to continue their education in STEM during and beyond their time at GPISD.
